The Future of Alternative Dispute Resolution: Construction Practitioners Resolving Construction Disputes
Thursday, February 1, 2007
Tapestry, Southfield
7:00 am to 11:30 am

Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) – the resolving of a dispute outside the formal court system – is beginning to permeate all aspects of personal and professional interactions. To a certain extent, the construction industry has been at the leading edge of ADR; arbitration has been utilized for several decades, and other techniques, such as mediation and dispute review boards, are increasing in popularity.

But with the number of contentious project claims, and the monumental costs associated with such claims, is it time for construction practitioners and project owners to take a more active role – indeed, take a leading role – in resolving disputes? Through a mix of presentations and panel discussions, the Future of ADR conference will explore the challenges and opportunities for construction practitioners serving as neutrals in the ADR process.

For agenda and speakers, visit: http://ww2.esd.org/EVENTS/2007-02-01_Dispute.htm
