HVAC and Integrated Design
300/400 level course

Thursday, September 17th 9am - 12 noon
ESD Headquarters, Southfield

Course Section Descriptions:
The HVAC systems in a building are the “Heart and Lungs” of the building. They also contribute the most towards the energy use of the building. Today more than ever, architects and engineers must work closely together to minimize the use of energy while still maintaining good indoor environmental conditions.

This 3-hour seminar will expand your thought processes and teach the principles of intelligent, integrated design to assist architects, engineers and facility managers to stay ahead of the curve relative to not only the upcoming ASHRAE and LEED® Standards but also the new laws and regulations.

The course will also introduce the student to the concept of net zero energy and high performing building design including passive and active energyoptimization and renewable energy sources.

Further, by using intelligent, integrated design principles you will learn how you can design buildings to meet LEED certification standards at little or no extra cost. This will help your clients or owners have buildings that will be energy efficient and fiscally competitive—and stand out from the others with their superior marketing capabilities.

Outcomes:
Learn the principals of intelligent, integrated design, the concepts of net zero energy, passive and active energy optimization. Learn how you can design or re-design buildings to be energy efficient and fiscally competitive.

Cost:
$129 ESD and Affiliate Council Members
$149 Non-Members
